For sale is a very rare vintage stereo pair of Helios Channel Strips with Microphone Preamp, Equalizer and Compressor. Tested and fully functional, with some servicing as needed by our techs including a recap. This is the final and rarest version of the Helios console input channel designed by Dick Swettenham. It's estimated that fewer than 20 of these channels are still in existence. These originally came from a console Helios was building for Capital Radio in London and were racked by former Neve engineer Martin Dowden at Creative Electronic Services. They implement several elements different from earlier designs, including 18V power rails for additional headroom, Sowter transformers, different EQ points (3-band EQ with hi/low pass filters) and a full compressor with dbx VCA chips similar to SSL compressors of that period. This might be your only chance to come across a pair of these modules. Don't miss out on these incredibly rare Helios, these sound absolutely amazing. Helios preamps / eqs are legendary, as equally sought after as vintage Neve or API for their awesome sound and tone.
