Lexicon 480L V4.10 Digital Effects System with LARC Remote + AES Card Rare Vintage Reverb Multi-Effects Rack

For sale is a rare vintage Lexicon 480L V4.10 Digital Effects System multi-effect 19" rack unit. It includes the rare AES/EBU - S/PDIF Interface card for Lexicon 480L allowing for digital output (very few 480L's include this card, you can see it as the bottom slot of the 480L) as well as LARC remote, remote cable and original manual. From original owner's smoke-free private home studio. Previously owned by David Frangioni (CEO of Modern Drummer magazine, David has worked with artists such as Shakira, Journey, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne and many more). It's in excellent shape overall with only very minor signs of wear. Tested and fully functional. The LARC screen is bright and easy to read. No funky smells, grime or rusty parts like you see on some of these old units, hard to find them in clean shape like this one. If you've been looking for an excellent example of a 480L from original owner that was lightly used and well maintained, this is the one.

The 480L is one of the greatest most classic vintage reverbs, used on hundreds of hits back in the day & still sounds incredible in the modern studio. Perhaps in part due to the less-than-pristine converters from limited advancements in technology at the time compared to analog-digital converters made today, this reverb just fits so well in the mix and is perfect for drums, vocals, or anything else you might want to process through it. These were top of the line technology (and costs) back in the '80s. There is a nice coloration and magic to the effect that still beats modern plug-ins and most hardware reverbs, there is nothing that has quite the same sound of the real 480L.
