"After many years of making mastering and bus compressors using my unique topology, we started making the popular germanium Clip/Sat clipper saturator. It soon became obvious that the clipper worked incredibly well with the compressors I make.
First we made the P3EX stereo compressor, which was tailored to be more aggressive and colorful. What made that happen was in 3 areas, first the RMS Detector timing was run faster than the other compressors. The second was a nice colorful discrete class a hybrid output stage. And third we tailored the flux density of some Edcor transformers for a sweet colorful sound.
This was quite successful, the users loved it!
Then I wanted to improve on the richness of the sound by incorporating my own transformers, the CT 2781 Nickel Core input transformer and the CT 2768 Litz wire wound output transformer. The results were great.
