For sale is a rare vintage Fender Rhodes 73 MkII Flat Top Electric Keyboard Piano. this came from original owner, private home studio composer but hasn't been used in many years. He did mention it was retolexed once. While it is tested and working passing signal, it does need some servicing to get it 100% functional. Our tech assessment is as follows:
- Tested and passes signal
- Bb2, A3, B3 keys are sticky
- Highest octave has pitch/timbre issues
- Tolex is rubbing/catching on keys and is poorly applied/lifting in general (not original tolex)
- Hammer tips are severely worn, had irregular hammer tip replacement
- Voicing and overall regulation issues
- Resonator bushings are old and shot
- Key action is very slow
- Leg bag is torn
- One leg is damaged, threaded insert is loose and appears to have been attempted to be repaired
- One leg flange is missing a screw
- One corner protector is missing a screw
- Overall cosmetic issues, crack in faceplate veneer
