For sale is a very rare vintage Ampex MX10 analog mixer with WPA mods. What makes this unit extra special is it's been fully restored and modded by Rob Harvey at World Pro Audio, along with the fact that it's in exceptionally clean condition. The mods bring it up to date for use in modern recording environment. We have multiple available if you want to have a bigger system. Can be included with pictured tolex case for extra $100 cost. With or without case, either option, it will be safely packed for shipment. It's fully functional and sounds fantastic. These mods were expensive and took several years to get done, plus the restoration cost along with the costs of an actual MX10. Never seen one of these for sale on the market before. Don't pass this up!
The mods include:
1) +48 switch turns phantom power on and off
2) -20 switch engage 20 db pad
3) Phase reverse switch
4) Mute switch mutes signal to the mix bus but not direct out
5) Dir-D&M-Mix switch allows selecting to channel to go to Direct Out, Direct Out and Mix, or Mix only (respectively)
6) 600 switch engages a 600 ohm load. This switch is to be enaged when the Direct Out signal feeds equipment that does not have 600 ohm input. Output transformers used in this design sound best when terminated with 600 ohms.
