For sale is a rare vintage Chamberlin M1 made by Harry Chamberlin. Previously serviced by keyboard specialist Stephen Masucci. This one is in great shape for its age. Functionally it's working minus one key that doesn't trigger. It has the typical quirks to be expected for a vintage tape machine related to needing regular like fine-tune / tape calibration / key adjustments / tape-head cleaning / motor lubrication and we'd recommend having it serviced again on arrival to ensure it's playing optimally. We can have it professionally gone through before sale for additional cost if desired. Chamberlins were the original tape loop synthesizer keyboards invented before the more well-known Mellotrons. Watch the great video of Jerry Lewis demoing a Chamberlin and Wiki article for a more detailed history and famous user-list. Who knows how many of these are left in existence and still in such good condition, not likely more than a few dozen. The M1 is the most coveted and portable of the Chamberlins. Tapes included are flute, violin, cello, bass clarinet, bassoon, oboe, clarinet and trombone. Includes a custom hard-shell case in excellent condition. This has been privately owned in smoke free home studio by a composer / musician for the past 15+ years. Don't miss out on this historic rare synthesizer!
