For sale is a rare vintage EMT 240 gold plate. Our techs tested it and did some servicing but we don't have further time to work on this due to the large number of projects in our shop. It is sold as-is, for parts/repairs, no warranties, guarantees, refunds or returns. It's a super heavy unit, we will do our best to pack it safely using some hard foam on the interior to help support the heavy interior shell, but we also highly recommend local pickup for this. The outer covers are included, taken off for photos to show the interior.
Tech notes:
Issues Observed:
HPF on channel 2 rolls off the low end on channel 1. Channel 1 passes signal and sounds fine. Channel 2 output amp works, but is not receiving signal from the plate. The output of channel 2 is thin and sounds like signal bleed being amplified; the input control has no effect. Damper does not work.
Service Performed:
Both I/O modules have been recapped. Broken wires on the inside of the clamshell have been soldered back in place. Fixed broken wire on a couple of the pickups.
Notes: The grease on the damping system dries up and seizes the motor; it will usually come back to life after a good cleaning and application of new grease.
