Roland GR-500 Synthesizer with Roland GR Paraphonic Guitar

For sale is a rare vintage Roland GR500 analog synthesizer with accompanying Roland GS-500 sunburst paraphonic guitar synthesizer controller. This is sold as-is, for parts/repairs, no warranties, guarantees, refunds or returns.

Included is the case for the guitar (the case is nothing particularly special and has some wear / duct tape on it) as well as guitar connecting cable to the synth. All items will be safely packed for shipment. It was tested and functional when it arrived to our store over a year ago, but on a recent re-test we found it exhibits some issues:

- Unit passes signal
- "A" string on poly-ensemble mode is not triggering
- Non original 3D printed connector cable has intermittency issues
- Synth module controls are intermittent

We can have this serviced for additional cost. It has an aftermarket, non-original cable. The connectors are 3D printed and while they function, they do not lock like the original connectors and as such are prone to intermittent connection issues. We are not aware of any places to source original cables. Our best recommendation would be to convert the guitar and module to DB25 connections. Once the interfacing cable is robust, we can then servicing any remaining issues found in the module. We estimate it may cost approximately $1000 - $1500 to complete servicing as needed to get it fully functional (this is an estimate and not a guarantee).
