For sale is an incredibly rare Telefunken Maihak B-V 30a Bottle Microphone serial #3 (approximately 1949-1951) with Neumann Theisch M-7 capsule (estimated build date mid 1930s). Capsule has new Thiersch Mylar M-7 cardioid diaphragm reworked by Preston Tate White, 2019 (looks like new.). The BV30a was a successor to the CMV3 / CMV3A microphone. This mic is fully functional and sounds absolutely fantastic. Full swivel capsule mount. Includes mic body, M7 capsule, custom AKG solid state power supply, power cable and case.
Some history:
This Maihak BV-30 microphone is a successor of the historic Neumann CMV- 3a mic. These originally came with a B-M15 capsule but this one is equipped with a much more superior Neumann-Theisch M7 capsule, serial number 0544. The BV-30a was based on a Hiller MSC2 and Telefunken AC701 and the direct precursor of the Neumann M49 microphone. German Broadcast wanted a smaller microphone and thus the miniature version M49 was born. The BV-30a is like an original "big-mother" to an M49.
